Malaga are set to replace Southampton-bound Juanmi with Celta Vigo forward Charles, according to reports in Spain.
Juanmi is headed for the Premier League, Marca note, for a fee of around €7m, according to the likes of Sky Sports in England.
The Saints are battling interest from Aston Villa and Real Sociedad, Marca claim, but Malaga are already plotting their next move should Juanmi’s exit be confirmed.
Charles, who played under Javi Gracia at Almeria, is Malaga’s preferred choice and though the move isn’t yet finalised, it’s understood to be very close.
Gracia has spoken with Charles, who is expected to cost around €500,000.
