Barcelona have confirmed the signing of Aleix Vidal from Sevilla on a five-year contract.
The 25-year-old, who can play anywhere down the right, successfully passed a medical on Sunday morning and joins immediately for a fee reportedly between €17m and €20m.
La Blaugrana have also announced that the Spain international will be officially presented on the Camp Nou pitch at Monday lunchtime.
However, he will not be able to make his Barca debut until January 2016, when the club’s FIFA-imposed transfer ban ends.
Vidal began his career as a right winger for predominantly Almeria but has spent most of his one and only season with Sevilla at right-back.
The arrival of the Catalan native will surely pose questions about Dani Alves’ future, given that his contract expires on June 30 and a renewal has yet to be agreed.
