Athletic Bilbao captain Andoni Iraola has slammed Barcelona rival Neymar for his perceived showboating in the Copa del Rey final on Saturday.
Los Leones were incensed with the Brazilian’s flick over Unai Bustinza towards the end of the match, which ended 3-1 to the Catalans, and the captain had a few choice words for his adversary after the final whistle.
“I didn’t find [Neymar’s flick] elegant or sporting,” the long-serving player, who will leave Athletic this summer, told reporters.
“He has examples in his team, who can teach him a lot.
“We grieve for the fans. We always win in the stands [because of them], but they can’t play with us on the pitch.
“We competed but needed to be clinical and [Lionel] Messi unbalanced the game.
“In the end, he again proved that he was the best player in the world and [again] made the difference.
“He scored [Barca’s] third goal, while ours came too late.”
