Uruguay union want Suarez ban lifted

The Uruguayan players’ union wants the international ban on Barcelona forward Luis Suarez lifted as a result of this week’s FIFA arrests.

AS reports that the organisation wants Suarez to be allowed to play in the Copa America this summer as some of the people involved in suspending Suarez – for biting Giorgio Chiellini – have been implicated in the scandal.

Suarez has not served the full time of the ban after being suspended for nine international games. He was also forced to miss four months at club level, making his Barca debut in October after a summer move from Liverpool.
