Real Madrid have enquired as to the availability of Sevilla Coach Unai Emery as they consider replacements for Carlo Ancelotti.
AS claim Los Blancos still have Rafa Benitez as their first choice option but are looking at other possibilities, and Emery knows as much and that is why he hesitated when asked about his future after Los Rojiblancos won the Europa League.
Emery insisted he was ‘happy’ with Sevilla but AS point out he was asked four times before he gave a reply, and was reluctant to commit himself because of Madrid’s lingering interest.
Sevilla have made clear they want Emery to stay and Madrid would have to pay a €1.5m fee if they tried to prise the Coach away from Nervion after his contract was automatically renewed following Sevilla’s successful season.
Milan and Manchester City have also been strongly linked with the Basque trainer but Sevilla are ready to dig in and keep their man.
