Fernando Hierro is expected to leave his post as a Real Madrid assistant, but it’s not related to Carlo Ancelotti’s departure.
Ancelotti was sacked on Monday but Marca reports Hierro’s decision is unrelated and more to do with the former Spain international looking for a new challenge.
Hierro is said to be happy with his year alongside Ancelotti and Paul Clement after having been offered the chance to return to Santiago Bernabeu 12 months ago.
Reports Hierro was offered a position as sporting director are false, Marca add, and Hierro will examine what offers he has upon leaving Madrid after taking a short holiday.
