David Moyes has insisted that Real Sociedad’s 3-0 defeat to Granada in La Liga on Sunday “didn’t reflect what happened on the pitch”.
La Real were stunned by the resurgent Andalucians at Anoeta as they were undone by goals from Youssef El-Arabi, Robert Ibanez and Ruben Rochina, but the Coach refused to lambast his players after the game.
“[The final score] didn’t reflect what happened on the pitch,” the former Everton and Manchester United boss told reporters.
“[Granada] scored from either rebounds or distance. Their first goal was the one that determined the match. We gave them an opportunity and they seized it.
“The team didn’t played well. We always try to play well and win, but we didn’t meet that expectation [this time out].”
