Nuno issues Valencia battle cry

Nuno Santo has issued a rallying cry to his Valencia players ahead of Sunday’s Champions League decider against Celta Vigo.

Los Che can secure a top-four position in La Liga with victory over the Galicians this weekend as they possess a superior head-to-head with Sevilla, and the Coach is confident that his side can cap off a “difficult” season in style.

“The most important thing is that we achieve our objective [of Champions League qualification],” he said at a Press conference.

“We’ll give a very serious performance against Celta. We’ll face such strong opponents with plenty of resolve and attention. We want to get the three points.

“The first step is [Sunday]. We can only think and look ahead with optimism to the three points [on Sunday].

“We’ll compete like we’ve always done, with the spirit that characterises us.

“The most important thing is that the match can lead us towards achieving the objective we set ourselves from day one in front of the best fans of the League.

“Hopefully we can celebrate another win and [the accomplishment of] a difficult objective together.

“[Celta] are a team who play very good football, with good possession and good players in each position. They’re a good side who will make things very difficult.

“We’ve matured enough to know that victory can come at any moment.”
