Andres Iniesta claimed finishing, not possession, made the difference in Barcelona’s 3-0 victory over Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The Catalans took control of their Champions League semi-final thanks to Lionel Messi’s brace and assist for Neymar at the death, and the midfielder paid tribute to his Argentine teammate for another clinical display.
“It was a game unlike any other and it worked out well for us in the end, but the tie’s far from over,” he said after the game.
“It was a close game with few chances in the first half. We tried to have more control, but our finishing decided the match.
“We’re now closer to reaching our objective [of winning the Champions League].
“Messi’s [second] goal was unique. He leaves you speechless because he keeps doing things that no-else does.
“Hopefully we can continue to enjoy his presence for a long time.”
