Almeria Coach Sergi Barjuan praised his players’ fighting spirit after seeing them come from 2-0 down to snatch a draw with Celta Vigo.
First-half goals from Nolito and Santi Mina put the visitors firmly in control at the Estadio de los Juegos Mediterraneos, only for Thievy Bifouma and Jonathan to equalise after the break as both sides had a man sent off.
“I was really pleased at how my players reacted in adversity after going two goals down against a great opponent,” Sergi told the post-match Press conference.
“The second half was positive and we were lucky enough to score with our first real move, but we also have to correct some things that create doubt and anxiety.
“In the first half we started well but defensively it didn’t go to plan. The idea was to play further forward but Celta caused us many problems.
“However, we are under a lot of physical and mental stress so it’s hard to control things,” he admitted.
