Sevilla director of football Monchi has denied the club are interested in signing Palermo left-back Achraf Lazaar this summer.
Rumours have been rife in Spain that the Andalusians are preparing a bid for the 23-year-old Moroccan international, who has been earning rave reviews with the Sicily outfit since joining from Varese in January 2015.
However, speaking to Todomercadoweb.es, Monchi poured cold water on the idea.
“No, we don’t want Lazaar…the reports are false,” he declared, before commenting on winger Diego Perotti, who disappointed at the Sanchez Pizjuan before a move to Serie A with Genoa before the start of this season.
“He did have some good seasons with Sevilla and I’m absolutely delighted he is playing at a great level with Genoa,” said Monchi.
