Nuno: Valencia anxious for points

Nuno Santo has admitted that Valencia are ‘anxious’ to collect points ahead of Monday’s match against Granada in La Liga.

A run of just one win in their last four games has seen Los Che lose their grip on third place and automatic qualification for next season’s Champions League to Atletico Madrid, leaving them with a fight on their hands to see off the challenge of Sevilla in the race for fourth.

“I expect [Granada] to be a tough team. They’re anxious to get points, like we are,” the Coach said at a Press conference.

“We know them well and we’re ready for the match. I think the most important thing is our immediate performance.

“We now have three games in six days. It’s all perfectly planned and we’re prepared, but each match will influence the decisions I make in the next one.

“What we want now is to remain the same team we’ve come to be, and that means our approach must be very similar to what it has been.

“Playing on Monday, knowing we have a match midweek, isn’t the main focus for us.

“We know we play after our rivals, but sooner or later we only want to rely on ourselves.”
