Lucas Alcaraz hailed his Levante players for taking a big step towards survival following their 1-0 win at Getafe in La Liga on Saturday.
Victor Casadesus’ first-half winner secured the Valencians a first victory in four matches to move them four points clear of the relegation places, and the Coach paid tribute to his side for carrying out his instructions.
“It’s not definitive but it’s important [that we won this game],” he said after the game.
“At this point in the season, any victory is valuable and it’s one which brings us closer to our objective of staying up.
“We must continue working hard because it’s easy to get wins and become complacent.
“We reduced the number of shots against us, tried to pack the midfield and defended against [Getafe’s] great attackers in numbers.
“Tuesday [against Cordoba] is a big game, in which we need all the help we can get because we’re still in trouble and it’s difficult to play against the teams below you.”
