Abidal: ‘PSG have little chance’

Eric Abidal believes Paris Saint-Germain have little chance of progressing in their Champions League quarter-final clash against Barcelona.

The Catalans are in pole position after winning the first leg 3-1 at the Parc des Princes last week and former Barca defender Abidal feels the tie is already as good as over.

“PSG have little chance and I’m well-placed to say that because I know Barcelona inside out,” the 35-year-old told Le Parisien.

“The French side will not be favourites and they’ll find it hard to avoid defeat. In any case they have to score and if they concede it will be even more difficult.

“That said, we can’t take the first leg into account as PSG were without a lot of players and I’m not sure there is too much difference between the sides.

“Once both teams reached the quarter-finals you couldn’t do anything but accept that they are in similar form.

“To sum up, PSG are going to find it really hard to win,” concluded the Frenchman.
