Villarreal Coach Marcelino cursed his side’s luck after the goalless draw with Cordoba, claiming it’s very rare to not win that game.
The Yellow Submarine had 28 shots on goal, according to Marca’s statistics, but couldn’t find a way past visiting goalkeeper Juan Carlos.
“We expected to win, as in any game,” Marcelino said after the match, AS reports.
“It seems that lately everything is against us. We have accumulated injuries, some of them serious. Not to win this game is one of those rare things that happens once in the League.
“I’m extremely proud of my players. There’s little more they could have done. We had many opportunities and we hit the post twice.
“We played with order and our opponent only had two chances. If we had won by four or five nothing would have happened.
“The goalkeeper had one of the best days at all in the League. I have nothing to reproach the team for.”
