‘Levante need clear heads’

Lucas Alcaraz has called on his Levante players to put the derby defeat to Valencia behind them against Espanyol.

Les Granotes were turned over 3-0 by Los Che and on Friday meet Los Periquitos in their first match since.

“The outcome of the game changes feelings and needs,” he said at a Press conference, AS reports.

“There is a need to focus on the game, to clear our head, and I believe we have already done that. We’ve prepared properly for the game and to get a result.

“Espanyol have the tranquillity of being in a position that isn’t an emergency at the top or at the bottom.

“There are a lot of teams that play against teams in that temperate zone, half and half, with no direct confrontations [against relegation rivals].

“Two years ago a team could stay up with 37 points, but it’s hard to say [how many points will be needed] right now.”
