Giuly: More at stake this time

Former Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Ludovic Giuly has warned the Champions League quarter-final meeting of the sides will be its own game.

Barca and PSG met in the group stage earlier in the season, PSG winning in Paris and Barca winning at Camp Nou, but Giuly predicted a different kind of contest this week.

“Barca are a team in good form and the system is working well. There’s good defensive work when the ball is lost,” he noted, AS reports.

“The meeting in the quarters will be very different from the group stage. There’s much more at stake. In football, every game is different. Whoever is in the best form will enter the semi-final.

“All the Barca players are important but it’s true that Lionel Messi has a more prominent role.

“Winning the Champions League with Barca? It’s the most important title I won, and, in addition, we did it in Paris, in my country.”
