Enrique backs misfiring Neymar

Luis Enrique has backed Neymar to rediscover his best form sooner rather than later ahead of Barcelona-Almeria in La Liga on Wednesday.

Despite his impressive haul of 26 goals this season, the Brazilian has failed to score in his last five League games, amid his alleged involvement in La Blaugrana’s recent tax case.

“I don’t think you can evaluate a player on two goals,” he said at a Press conference.

“We already knew about [Jeremy Mathieu], but he was a great reinforcement. Getting him here was great sporting management.

“I’m not fussed about Neymar’s drought. He’s a top player and I’m sure the goals will flow again.

“I think it’s vital to win this game for the League title. We will play an XI which gives us guarantees and the best chance of securing three vital points.

“All I can say is that the Catalans won’t take unnecessary risks and will take care of the players. We know by the millimetre their movements and efforts.

“I didn’t ask [Sergio Busquets] to get a yellow [against Celta Vigo] but to watch his cards.”
