Alves: Arguments are inevitable

Dani Alves has admitted to Barcelona's off-field problems earlier in the season but insisted "arguments in the dressing room are inevitable".

La Blaugrana's campaign appeared to be heading for oblivion when Lionel Messi and Luis Enrique became embroiled in a training-ground spat shortly after the Christmas holidays, but the right-back maintained there was no malice between the pair.

"[Arguments in the dressing room] are inevitable. Life in the dressing room is worse than [life] with family," he told Globoesporte.

"We live with eachother more than our own family. If with family, the blood of our blood, we have problems, just imagine [the problems which can arise in] the dressing room.

"These problems are inevitable but they exist because we're competitive and want to win. When you want to win, you're doomed to fall out.

"Barcelona aren't a Picasso portrait, to which you see it, appreciate it and say, 'what a sight!'

"Bad times are for people who value the good times, and problems eventually become something positive. Any conflicts which arise from the hunger to win are valid.

"[Luis Enrique and I] are quite similar in terms of naturalness and spontaneity. Sometimes people make mistakes, but I'd rather be wrong for saying something than not saying something.

"My heart is happy where it is, but it's not up to me how much longer I'll be here.

"I'll fulfill my contract because I have the same desire as when I first joined Barcelona. I haven't signed a pre-contract with anyone.

"I've decided to live for this moment and my time is now, in a season where we're still in three competitions.

"I want to finish my contract with titles and end it on a positive note. I'll accept whatever comes next."
