Malaga look to tempt Bueno

Malaga are attempting to broker a deal that will bring Rayo Vallecano striker Alberto Bueno to La Rosaleda this summer.

The 27-year-old, signed from Real Valladolid in summer 2013, has been a revelation in La Liga so far this season and is the leading Spanish goalscorer, having netted 15 times including four in a 23-minute spell against Levante.

According to La Opinion de Malaga, the Costa del Sol outfit did their homework early and have stolen a march on other clubs competing for Bueno’s signature after registering their interest with his representatives some months ago.

However, Bueno is aware that his value has shot up recently and he was widely touted to be included in Vicente del Bosque’s latest Spain squad, although he was overlooked in favour of Malaga frontman Juanmi.

Economically, Los Blanquiazules are unable to match what other clubs may be willing to offer the player, who is conscious his next move will be the most important one of his career, although it is understood they approached him in January regarding a contract for next season.

Meanwhile, Malaga continue to comb the market for attacking players and have been linked with a loan move for Manchester City youngster Jose Angel Pozo, who was born in the Andalusian city.
