Khedira trains with Germany

Real Madrid midfielder Sami Khedira has trained with the German national squad despite not having done so with his club since last week.

Khedira has been absent with a stomach bug since last Wednesday and did not travel to the Camp Nou for Sunday’s Clasico, while he is widely expected to depart the Santiago Bernabeu this summer.

According to AS, he is already in talks with Schalke and the Bundesliga outfit’s President Clemens Tonnies confirmed there have been discussions.

“Yes, there have been initial talks with Khedira. We believe he could be a great help to us in the future,” admitted Tonnies.

In fact, according to TV station Cuatro, the German club have already informed Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti not to play the 27-year-old again before his summer switch.

Nonetheless, despite seeing just 624 minutes of action with Los Blancos this season, Khedira is fixture for his country under Joachim Low and has joined the group as they prepare for the friendly with Australia on Wednesday and the Euro 2016 Group D qualifier with Georgia this Sunday.
