Suarez revelling in MSN partnership

Luis Suarez has revealed that he is loving the opportunity of playing alongside Lionel Messi and Neymar in Barcelona’s attack.

The Uruguayan has finally settled into life at Camp Nou after a barren start, with five goals in his last six games, and he admits rediscovering his best form was made all the more easier by his fellow ‘MSN’ members.

“I’m now at point where I feel happy [because I’m helping the team]. My family are happy and I’m enjoying myself [on the pitch],” he explained in the second part of his interview with Gol TV.

“A striker enjoys scoring goals, they always makes you feel more confident but in my case I like to help the team a lot.

“When you don’t score or feel important, you become very critical about yourself, but right now I feel calmer. It’s important because as a striker I’ve been brought here to score goals.

“There were spells when I couldn’t score and wandered to myself when the goals would come.

“[My drought] surprised me, but if I was helping the team to win, despite not scoring, I was still very happy. I didn’t take notice of the criticism when I weren’t scoring goals.

“For most people, [Lionel Messi] is the best player in the world, mainly for everything he does on the pitch, doing amazing things which no-one else can.

“Sometimes you don’t expect receiving a pass from him because there are many legs [on the pitch], as has happened to me many times.

“I must continue enjoying and taking advantage of the opportunity to play with these kind of players.

“He continues to show up today that he’s not bored of scoring goals and wanting to get things done and that shows how professional and great he is.

“[Neymar’s] young but for his age and all the other players who are coming up behind him, he’ll become the best player in the world because it has everything to be [the best].

“He has great quality, a goal in him and a great team ethic. Sometimes people will doubt [his team ethic] because there’s a lot of camaraderie.

“He’s learning a lot from the players around him, but we’ve also learned a lot from him because he has things which surprise us too.

“As I’ve already said with Leo [Messi], with Andres [Iniesta] and now with Neymar, I enjoy having the chance to play alongside players of their quality.

“"Everyone knows that, given he’s won three Ballon d’Ors, Cristiano [Ronaldo] has great quality and is a player who can make the difference at crucial moments. He’s important to Real Madrid.”
