Getafe interim boss Pablo Franco was left to rue the 1-0 defeat to Real Sociedad on Monday night, while claiming his side should have been awarded a penalty.

An Inigo Martinez header on 66 minutes sealed the three points for the Basques, but Franco felt the outcome could have been different for the Madrid outfit.

“This defeat was no good to anyone and we should have had a penalty after Pablo Sarabia was fouled when we were a goal down,” he told reporters.

“To me it was obviously a penalty but it’s very difficult to make decisions in such a short space of time, so I’m not going to criticise the officials, although I thought it was clear-cut.

“We are all very sad as this was an important game for us but now we have to move on and continue to work hard,” he conceded.
