Newcastle United are reportedly ready to join the chase to land Sevilla striker Kevin Gameiro this summer.
According to the Sunday People, the Magpies sent chief scout Graham Carr to El Madrigal last Thursday when the Andalusians beat Villarreal 3-1 in a Last 16 Europa League first leg tie.
Carr hardly had time to sit down when he saw the 27-year-old set up a goal for Vitolo within the first 14 seconds, the fastest in Europa League history.
In addition, Gameiro notched a goal on 50 minutes that helped wrap up victory for a Sevilla side that now have one foot in the quarter-finals of the competition.
However, Newcastle could face opposition for the French international’s signature, with Liverpool also rumoured to be in the running and preparing a €12m bid.
