Luis Enrique singled out Sergi Roberto for praise following Barcelona’s 2-0 win at Eibar in La Liga on Saturday.
The 23-year-old started in an unfamiliar defensive-midfield position but completed the match at Ipurua, warranting acclaim from his Coach, who claimed his performance was proof that he had a bright future at Camp Nou.
“[Sergi Roberto] had a spectacular match, considering how difficult it is for someone who doesn’t get many minutes,” he said after the game.
“He played at a high level because he trains very well, but he has a long journey ahead of him.
“He doesn’t lose the ball, has a good passing game and is very complete.
“I know him very well and it’s a shame that I haven’t been able to give him more minutes.
“He can be an important player for the club. He’s proved it.”
