Xavi to decide on Barca future

Xavi Hernandez says he will decide on his future at the end of the season, although he is not ruling anything out.

The 35-year-old Barcelona midfielder has been linked with moves to New York City and Qatar recently, but says they are “just rumours” and nothing will happen until the summer.

“There is nothing in anything and it will stay that way until the end of this season,” Xavi is quoted as saying by Sport.

The Spain international still has one more year left on his existing agreement with the Blaugrana, who may be reluctant to let him leave as they are unable to sign any players until January 2016.

One solution is that the veteran could stay until then, when Barca can enter the transfer market once their ban is lifted, before heading off to Major League Soccer where the season begins in March.
