Nuno: ‘Point makes Valencia stronger’

Valencia boss Nuno Espirito Santo said the point earned against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon has made his team even stronger.

Shkodran Mustafi’s late header rescued a draw for Los Che after Koke had put the hosts ahead just after the half-hour mark and Nuno declared himself more than pleased at the outcome.

“We came here to play at the home of the champions and it was important we competed,” he told a Press conference.

“We knew it was going to be difficult but the point we have taken has made us stronger as we have the youngest squad in the League. This means that, over time, we are able to compete with the best opponents.

“I was very satisfied with the second half and we went into the game without fear, looking to win the match and showing an exemplary attitude.

“Madrid and Barcelona’s League is another thing but we won’t deviate from our objectives. The objective is to get into the Champions League places,” he insisted.
