Xavi in talks with New York?

Xavi Hernandez has reportedly entered negotiations with New York City over a 2016 transfer to the MLS new boys.

According to Cadena SER, the Barcelona midfielder was spotted at a Catalan restaurant with his father Joachim, agent Ivan Corretja and a representative from Manchester City, who are the parent club of the American franchise.

However, the 34-year-old is not expected to leave Camp Nou until next year, while the 2015 MLS season begins on Saturday, so any move to New York would likely see him feature in time for the following campaign.

Xavi, who has struggled for game time at Barca this season and quit Spain duty after the World Cup, would also be reacquainted with former teammate David Villa.
