Enrique dismisses casino trip ‘gossip’

Luis Enrique has dismissed ‘gossip’ relating to Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique and Cesc Fabregas’ night out at a casino prior after Barcelona’s defeat by Malaga.

The trio were spotted together at the establishment in wake of the Catalans’ surprise loss at the weekend, but the Coach was not prepared to be drawn into any potential furore, with his side’s Champions League last-16 first against Manchester City forthcoming.

“[Cesc] said it was his private life. Moreover, the gossip doesn’t interest me,” he told reporters.

“I’ve known this club since I was a player and there’s always extra things to decorate the Christmas tree.

“I analyse everything, but I’m not going to answer anything malicious. My relationship with the team remains the same as always.

“It’s [Luis Suarez’s] first season at the club and already a reference point in our attack. He has features, which help us. He handles the ball well and creates space.

“[Sergio Aguero] is one of the most decisive [players in the world]. We’ll see who plays and how the game goes.

“[Neymar] is now in good way after some adaptation [to Spanish football]. He has many good traits, [achieved] sensational numbers and is doing some very good things.”
