Neymar has been called to testify in a lawsuit in Brazil regarding his transfer from Santos to Barcelona, it has been reported.
AS cite a claim by television programme 8 al dia that says legal action from DIS, a group which owned 40% of Neymar’s contract, against his agent, Wagner Ribeiro, to present documentation around the transfer has led to Neymar to be called to give evidence in Sao Paulo.
It’s understood that the admission of Barca President Josep Maria Bartomeu that the club paid more than originally declared for Neymar has led DIS to argue they are due a larger payment than the €6.8m they initially received.
The €6.8m figure was based on a transfer fee of €17.1m but Bartomeu has since acknowledged that the true cost of Neymar’s signing was more than €90m, AS add.
Wagner Ribeiro was given five days to provide the necessary documents.
