Adriano: I’d re-sign Alves

Adriano has advised Barcelona to offer a new contract to Dani Alves while admitting he doesn’t know what his future entails.

The full-back has spoken to reporters and discussed his status at Camp Nou as one of Luis Enrique’s least-used players.

“For now I’m focused on Barca and I’m only thinking that I want to finish the season with the team,” he said, AS reports.

“But when the time comes I’ll listen to my agent and here what offers there are.

“I’m in good shape and I’m eager to help the team. I hope to get more minutes to help my teammates.

“I am available whenever [Enrique] wants me.”

Alves, Adriano’s compatriot, is out of contract this summer and has been strongly linked with a move away, although there have also been stories claiming Barca will offer terms to the right-back.

“Since I’ve been here Dani has been an important player for Barca,” Adrian began, laying out on which side of the argument he stands.

“He continues to demonstrate that every day. If it was up to me, I would renew his contract.”
