Neymar is reportedly talking Porto full-back Danilo out of a proposed move to Real Madrid and into a switch to Barcelona instead.
Danilo and Neymar are close friends from their time together at Santos but Los Blancos are said to be ready to move for the defender.
The players have remained in contact and Neymar is privately pushing for Danilo to ignore the advances from the capital and wait for Barca.
Barca are under a transfer embargo but President Josep Maria Bartomeu has suggested it won’t prevent them signing players this summer.
The players would either remain at their current clubs until January 2016 or, if that’s not possible, join Barca, who would only register them when the ban was lifted.
Madrid’s interest in Danilo also includes Casemiro, who is on loan at Porto for the season, and could be used to tempt Porto into selling.
Marca claims this is the latest standoff between Madrid and Barca over transfers, the clubs having competed for Neymar, Mesut Ozil, Toni Kroos and Marcos Asensio.
