Emery: Sevilla respect Cordoba

Sevilla Coach Unai Emery has spoken of his respect for Round 23 opponents Cordoba after being named January’s Coach of the Month.

Emery received the award for Los Rojiblancos’ form at the start of the year and said at his pre-match Press conference he is thankful for the recognition.

He added that it’s a gong for the team as a whole and wants to keep the squad’s concentration up for the visit of Miroslav Djukic’s side.

“It’s an award I appreciate in the collective sense because it’s a recognition of everyone,” he insisted, AS reports.

“It has positive connotations and we have to continue working with them. We need to work on the good things we’re doing.

“We respect all teams. Cordoba have a great need for the points. Levante and Eibar came here and took something.

“Cordoba have changed. They won at San Mames and Vallecas but we have the ambition of giving joy to all our fans through a good game.

“I want to convey positivity. We have to respect the opponent but show our qualities on the pitch. The game is my only goal.”

Sevilla will have Jose Antonio Reyes back in the squad for the fixture but are without right-backs Coke and Diogo.
