Real Madrid will reportedly punish Sami Khedira and James Rodriguez after they both attended Cristiano Ronaldo’s controversial 30th birthday party.
The forward was slammed by Los Blancos supporters for celebrating in the wake of last Saturday’s 4-0 defeat to Atletico Madrid, forcing agent Jorge Mendes to come out in his defence.
However, reports in Spain claim the pair of midfielders will face the heaviest sanctions due to their supposed injuries, which kept them out of the Madrid derby.
The capital giants issued a medical report on the eve of the match, which claimed Khedira had been diagnosed with an injury to his left hamstring, while he was advised to rest by club doctors.
However, he was seen to have ignored those instructions, and with his contract expiring at the end of the season, it is understood that he will no longer be considered an important first-team member.
James, meanwhile, was also ordered to take it easy after he fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot against Sevilla a week ago but, like Khedira, was spotted as one of the more active guests.
Luka Modric may also be punished for his attendance at the birthday bash, having spent the last three months on the sidelines, although he was one of the first to leave.
