Luis Enrique has reiterated his confidence in Luis Suarez’s ability to eventually realise his Liverpool form at Barcelona.
The Uruguayan is beginning to strike an understanding with Lionel Messi and Neymar in La Blaugrana’s attack after a slow start to his €81m transfer, and the Coach is backing his forward to star once more during Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final first leg against Villarreal.
“[On the topic of Cristiano Ronaldo’s party], I only speak about our rivals when they play against us. We sit on the wall. Their environment only interests them,” he said at a Press conference.
“[Luis Suarez] participates in almost every attacking move which ends up as a goal. I’m happy with his contribution [so far] and confident he will get even better.
“I don’t speak of these situations [regarding Alves’ renewal]. The club and player have to remain calm, everything can be solved in time, not midseason.
“Like a League match, the objective is to win. It’s important not to concede, but most importantly we must do better than Villarreal.
“They’re having a spectacular season and the match presents many difficulties. A win would be good, but I won’t make any predictions. Let’s see if we improve from our previous game.”
