Paris Saint-Germain are casting eyes towards Atletico Madrid’s Diego Simeone as their possible boss for next season.
The French club’s President Nasser Al-Khelaifi has lost patience with current incumbent Laurent Blanc, according to AS, whom he feels has failed to show a lack of authority over his players and has lost the dressing room.
Several recent outbreaks of indiscipline from some squad members has exacerbated his problems and Al-Khelaifi is understood to have drawn up a short-list of possible replacements, with Simeone’s name at the top.
If he is unable to convince the Argentine to leave the Vicente Calderon his next options are believed to be Napoli’s Rafa Benitez and Michael Laudrup, who is in charge at Qatari club Lekhwiya Sports.
PSG are third in Ligue 1, level on points with Marseille and four behind leaders Lyon, while they have also reached the quarter-finals of the Champions League, where they will meet Chelsea.
