Mario Husillos has maintained that Ignacio Camacho will not leave Malaga in January, despite the club receiving offers for the midfielder.
The 24-year-old has developed into a key player at La Rosaleda since joining from Atletico Madrid in 2011 and made his Spain debut against Germany in November.
“We’ve received offers for Camacho,” the sporting director told Canal+.
“He’s a player for the national team and a luxury we’re enjoying. Big teams in Europe have enquired about him, but he won’t leave in January.
“I hope he’ll stay here for many years. He’s signed on for four more seasons. For a long time, there’s been murmurs [of his possible departure] which have gone on and on.
“If a big club ask about him, it’ll only be for something [referring to Camacho’s reported €20m release clause].”
