Iniesta eyeing ‘another step forward’

Andres Iniesta admits he is not fully satisfied with Barcelona’s position in La Liga as he eyes 'another little step forward'.

La Blaugrana made it three successive victories on Sunday thanks to their 3-0 win at Deportivo La Coruna, a result which keeps them in close proximity of League leaders Real Madrid and sets them up for Wednesday's Copa del Rey quarter-final first-leg with Atletico Madrid.

“It was important to keep winning and secure another three points, and we've done it,” the midfield said after the game.

“Now we’ll recover and prepare for a difficult game on Wednesday. We’d like to take another little step forward but the [table] reading isn’t bad.

“We must continue improving, because we’re coming up to an important stage of the season.

“In the end, I think we all feel useful and important. We all want to help the team reach the final.

“What the coach decides is what counts. All the players can do is give their best [when selected].

“The Atletico [Madrid] tie is beautiful, but also difficult. Atleti are tough opponents, who we can only beat if we do things right and make no mistakes.”
