Madrid full strength for Atleti tie

Real Madrid boss Carlo Ancelotti is expected to field a full strength side for Thursday’s Copa del Rey clash with cross-city rivals Atletico Madrid.

Los Blancos go into the second leg at the Santiago Bernabeu attempting to claw back a two-goal deficit from last week’s game at the Vicente Calderon and reach the quarter-finals, with AS suggesting the only change is likely to be between the posts.

The Italian is ready to continue his policy of playing Keylor Navas in all the Cup games at the expense of regular first choice Iker Casillas, who will start on the bench, and is prepared to shelve any rotation plans after the negative first-leg result, where the likes of Sami Khedira, Alvaro Arbeloa and Raphael Varane all featured.

Ancelotti is also hoping the fans play their part in creating an atmosphere at a sold-out Bernabeu, and there are also plans to greet the team coach on its arrival at the stadium.
