Fernando Torres starts as expected for Atletico Madrid while Cristiano Ronaldo is only a substitute for Real Madrid in the Copa del Rey derby.

Torres returned to Atletico earlier this month in a swap deal that sent Alessio Cerci to Milan in exchange and makes his second debut for Los Colchoneros against Los Blancos, as had previously been announced by Diego Simeone.

The former Liverpool and Chelsea striker previously debuted for Atletico as a 17-year-old in May 2001 and last wore Atleti colours at the end of the 2006-07 season.

Torres is joined by Jan Oblak, who comes in for regular Atletico goalkeeper Miguel Angel Moya, Jesus Gamez at right-back, Jose Gimenez and Diego Godin in central defence and youngster Lucas at left-back.

The Atletico midfield is formed by Mario Suarez, Saul Niguez, Gabi and Raul Garcia, while Antoine Griezmann offers support to El Nino.

Madrid, meanwhile, have Keylor Navas in goal in place of Iker Casillas, a switch that was revealed by Carlo Ancelotti earlier in the week.

Raphael Varane comes in for Pepe to partner Sergio Ramos while Sami Khedira also gets the nod in midfield, with fellow Germany international Toni Kroos.

Ronaldo is named on the Madrid bench, with Karim Benzema supported by Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez in attack.
