‘Valencia believe in Nuno’

Valencia captain Dani Parejo has credited Coach Nuno Santo as the reason Los Che were able to beat Real Madrid.

Madrid’s 22-game winning streak ended on Sunday at Mestalla and speaking to Radio Marca, Parejo was fulsome in his praise of the trainer and the supporters.

“It was the triumph of a very special way because we were against Real Madrid. Mestalla was as vibrant as ever,” Parejo began.

“The key is that we believe in the Coach, as seen in our style of football. We’re with him to the death.

“I would emphasise his sincerity with the players. He hides nothing and doesn’t talk behind your back. He says it to your face.

“It’s my fourth season here and I’m experiencing something that hasn’t been seen in recent years, with the support of the people transmitted onto the field.

“We’re not talking about the League title. Maybe if there are five or six games and we’re in a close fight for it.

“The goal is to qualify for the Champions League and compete in the Copa del Rey, a very nice competition.”
