Sergio Gonzalez believes Espanyol’s strong home form will stand them in good stead when they host Eibar in La Liga on Sunday.
The Catalans head into their first match of the New Year level on points with the Basque new boys in midtable, but the Coach is hoping his side can take heart from their performances at the Power8 Stadium this season.
“We must be the strong team we’ve been at home all season,” he told reporters at a Press conference.
“We’re playing against the best Eibar of the season, so we must go with all our senses. One only needs to see how many points they’ve accumulated.
“Hopefully we see the Espanyol who usually play at home because it’ll be a good game and we look forward to playing them.
“There are no affordable opponents at this level, and if we sit back at home, we’ll suffer.
“Eibar raised doubts at first, but they’re a strong team and getting points both home and away.”
