‘Barca want to improve in all aspects’

Luis Enrique claims Barcelona want to improve ‘in all aspects’ as they prepare to resume their season against Real Sociedad tomorrow.

La Blaugrana travel to the Basque Country on Sunday in their first La Liga fixture of the New Year, and the Coach is keen to see his team translate the intensity displayed in recent training sessions onto the pitch at Anoeta.

“We want to improve in all aspects. It’s a new year in which we must adapt to. It won’t be easy,” he informed assembled journalists at a Press conference.

“We are where we wanted to be [at the start of the season]. I hope that we can give superior performances in the next few months.

“We don’t know how many more points Real Madrid and Atletico will drop between now and the end of the season. We’re in a tussle.

“We're used to playing every three days, but I know that if we don’t win, our performances will be scrutinised.

“All the players have come back very well. The intensity of our training sessions has been very good, and they’re here to compete.

“We’re facing the game with the maximum desire of going for all three points. At the moment we’re not at our most intense. We’ll suffer for sure, but it's a nice test for us.

“La Real have recovered their intensity, achieved better results [under David Moyes] and have left their bad patch.

“Vela is La Real’s most decisive player, with him it’s easier for them to find our goal. We’ll see if he plays or not.”
