Alves: No Barca renewal yet

Dani Alves says he has not yet been offered a new contract by Barcelona but insists he will not leave the club in January.

The right-back’s current deal expires in the summer, and with Martin Montoya’s future seemingly uncertain, coupled with the perceived lack of faith in Douglas Pereira’s ability, La Blaugrana may find themselves short in the position as a result of their transfer embargo.

“The club haven’t offered me a renewal. The problem of leaving the club light at right-back isn’t mine, but Barcelona’s,” he told reporters at Barcelona's El Prat airport.

“I'm not free, I still have six months of my contract left. I don’t want to negotiate an exit. First I will finish my contract and then we'll see.”
