‘Chicharito’ linked with Italy move

Real Madrid striker Javier ‘Chicharito’ Hernandez is being linked with a shock switch to Milan this summer.

The Mexican is on a season-long loan at the Santiago Bernabeu from Manchester United and is expected to return to Old Trafford at the end of the season, having been unable to force his way into Carlo Ancelotti’s star-studded starting line-up.

However, the Daily Star reports that he is likely to be sold by United boss Louis van Gaal, with Milan understood to be monitoring his situation as they scour the European market for quality strikers.

Sources in Italy suggest the Reds are keen on Milan defender Adil Rami, who is also a target for Arsenal, and a swap deal may appeal to the Serie A giants’ boss Filippo Inzaghi.

France international Rami joined the Italians for €4.3m from Valencia before the start of this season after being on loan at the San Siro for the second half of last term.
