Cesc: I’d love Messi at Chelsea

Former Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas says he would love Chelsea to bring Lionel Messi to the Premier League.

The Londoners signed Fabregas for a reported €33m in the summer and the former Arsenal man told Radio Marca he would enjoy it if Messi followed the same path.

“I wish! Why not? I'd love that to happen. I'd be all for it. As a Barca man, I believe that Messi deserves to retire at Barcelona for all he has given the club,” said Fabregas.

“He is a legend that has changed Barca’s history but, as his teammate and friend, without doubt I'd love to have Leo by my side.

“This season Barca are Messi and 10 others. Messi has saved his team on many occasions".

Fabregas also spoke about Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho and believes his football philosophy is similar to Barcelona’s.

“Mourinho adapts to the players he has. What makes him so great as a Coach is that he adapts to any situation and his teams can play in many different ways.

“It's a very intelligent way of coaching. I'd say Barca have a style he has already experienced and understands perfectly. We play a very similar game in that we want to be the protagonists, have possession and look to score.

“We may have a different system but the philosophy is similar,” he insisted.
