Josep Maria Bartomeu has thrown his weight behind Luis Enrique after the Coach was criticised in some quarters this season.
Speaking at a pre-Christmas lunch, the Barcelona President said he was backing the Asturian to come good and that he was glad to leave behind a 2014 that has been “a difficult year”.
“Next year will be really important for us because there are many things to be decided,” maintained Bartomeu.
“We have enthusiasm and trust in Luis Enrique to push forward our club’s sporting project and there are some fantastic months of excitement ahead. We have confidence in him because he deserves it.
“It’s been a difficult year in which a lot of things have happened that we have fought openly, and we’ve issued as much information as we could.
“Many of these issues are still ongoing but we’ll continue fighting,” he declared.
