Odegaard asks Madrid for more time

Norwegian wonderkid Martin Odegaard has asked Real Madrid for more time as he weighs up the options over his future.

Los Blancos have been hot on the trail of Odegaard, who has just celebrated his 16th birthday, but the youngster has not yet decided on which of the many teams interested in signing him he will join.

According to Marca, the player’s father, who has held numerous meetings with the Madrid board, has contacted the club asking for more time to clear up any possible doubts he may have.

Barcelona, Arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, Ajax and Bayern Munich are just some of the clubs who have invited Odegaard to train with them, while reports in Germany suggest he will be joining Bayern, although sources at the Santiago Bernabeu say he has not yet made his decision.

Madrid, in the meantime, are understood to have proposed Odegaard spends pre-season with the first team before going out on loan.
