Eibar boss Gaizka Garitano admitted his team had to suffer to achieve a commendable 0-0 with Sevilla at the Sanchez Pizjuan.
The Basques are enjoying a fine debut season in La Primera and sit ninth in the table, but Garitano conceded his players needed to pull out all the stops to take anything away from the home of their more illustrious opponents.
“Against teams like this and at grounds like this Eibar have to know how to suffer,” he told reporters post-match.
“We did well in the first half but in the second the only thing we could do was to defend in an organised manner.
“We didn’t have the ball and there was nothing we couldn’t do anything up against a team like Sevilla, who could call on a bench that contained players like [Gerard] Deulofeu and [Carlos] Bacca.
“However, I must congratulate my players for the job they did,” he maintained.
