Leganes await Pellegrino response

Leganes are hoping to receive a reply from Mauricio Pellegrino in the next few days over an offer to become their new Coach.

The Madrid club have made their intentions clear to the 46-year-old, who in the past has coached at Valencia, Estudiantes, Independiente, Alaves and Southampton, but reports in Spain suggest they will not wait for him to consider better offers.

The Argentine is understood to be in Spain at the moment and it is expected there will be a definitive answer sooner rather than later as Leganes search for Asier Garitano’s successor.

If Pellegrino turns the offer down then Los Pepineros could turn to former Real Sociedad boss Jagoba Arrasate, who is currently in charge at Segunda outfit Numancia.

However, the Soria side are pushing for a play-off spot with two games remaining, and if successful it would mean that Arrasate would be unable to join Leganes until well into the summer.
